  1. Pike Co Illinois court records, will BK 1 page 17 1836
    The will and testament of Charles Hubbard Deceased In the name of God Amen, I Charles Hubbard Sen. of the State of Illinois and county of Pike being weak in boddy but of sound and Disposing mind do make this my Last Will and Testament.i.e. after all my just Debts are paid I give unto my youngest son Joseph all the Land and farming utensils that I posses on the condition that he first pays to my Executor twenty five Dollars and also takes good and faithfull care of Jemima Hubbard my wife so long as she lives and further more so soon as he the said Joseph shall pay twenty five Dollars I wish my Executor and Jemima my wife to make a deed to him to the South west fourth of the south west quarter of section ten township seven south of range four west and further I give unto my wife Jemima, mare Cate one Cow and Calf my hogs and Sheep and further I wish my son Joseph to have my young horse Winnebago and also my yoke of steers and for which he is to pay to my Executor Twenty Five Dollars and further more I wish my Stable horse the Northern bay to be sold and said son Joseph to have the one half of what he may fetch and I further give unto my wife Jemima all my house hold furnature and it is my will that my Executor to cause to be made unto my son Joseph a deed to the above named premises and further it is my wish that the balance of my Estate be Equally divided betwixt my lawfull heirs and I hereby appoint my son David Hubbard sole Executor of this my last will and testament and hereby revoke all former will by me made in testimony wheer of I hereunto set my hand and Seal this Nineteenth Day of December in the year A.D. 1835.
  2. Madison co, KY marriage bonds and records September 1798.
    Know all man by these presents that we Jacob Quick & Nathan Park are held and firmly bound unto James Garrad Esq. Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the Just and full sum of fifty pound to which paiment well and truly to be made to the said Governor or his successors we bind ourselves our heirs Exors. and admisrs. firmly by these presents Sealed with our Seals and dated this 4 day of Sept. 1798. The Conditions of the above Obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be had solomized between the above bound Jacob Quick and Peby Caps both of Madison County if there by no lawful cause to obstruck the same then the above Obligation to be void. Otherwise to remain in full force forever and virtue. sign'd Seal'd and del'd. Jacob Quick. In Presence of Nathan Parke (seal) Sir, you will please to issue a license of Matrimony Between Jacob Quick and Phebe Caps she is of age a Sister to my wife and lives with me. Sept. 4, 1798 Charles huberd Jamiah Hubberd (both signed, someone else wrote the Hubberd in Jemima's name.) Wm. Irvine, Clerk Pheobe Capps was born January 17, 1775 (notation from Bible of one of her children)

    Charles Hubbard (Sr.), the fathe rof David Hubbard, emigrated from Virginia not far from the line of North Carolina to Kentucky about 1795 or '96 only a short time before the birth of his son David. He spent several years in Ky. and in 1809, with his family, he moved to Missouri and settled in the county of Saint Louis, and spent several years in this county living not far from the present town of Kirkwood on the Mo. Pacific R.R. about 13 miles west of the city of St. Louis. And in 1819 he moved to that part of Montgomery co. that is now Warren, about 3 miles north west of the present town of Wright City. From this county he moved in 1831 to Pike co. Illinois and soon after he died. he professed religion in the state of KY, and became a Baptist of some standing and influence. While he lived in St. Louis co. he was a member of the Fifi Baptist Church, in which he held the office of deacon. His wife, the mother of David, was the daughter of William Capps of North Carolina.
  4. Madison co. Ky. Deed Book E, page 935 1805
    This Indenture made the first day of April in this the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five between Charles Hubbard of the County of Madison and State of Kentucky of the one part and Richard Parks of the same County and state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Charles Hubbard for and in consideration of the sum of thirty-five pound in Horse flesh the same to be returned if the land is lost to him in hand paid the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold whence and confirmed and by these presents do grant Bargain sell alien and confirm to the said Richard Parks his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land laying and being in the County of Madison and State of Kentucky and on the waters of Station Camp Creek containing 100 acres of land to the same more only and bounded as follows to Wit, Beginning on a line thence South 10--- to a double maple, thence east fifty polls to Elderberry thence South 30 E. 128 to five white Hickorys thence East 100 poles to the Beginning. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all the Singular its appurtenance to the said Richard Parks his heirs and assigns forever to them and their only proper use and behalf of the said Charles Hubbard for him said Richard Parks and his heirs and assigns against the claim of every person forever defend in witness the said Charles Hubbard hath herewith set his hand and seal this date above written.

  5. Madison co., Ky Deed Bk. M. page 228 1818
    This Indenture made the twenty sixth day of August in the year of one thousand eight hundred and eighteen between Benjamin Craig of the County of Galliton and State of Kentucky of the one part and John Hubbard of the County of Barron and state aforesaid of the other part () that the said Benjamin Craig for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty pounds to him in hand paid the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained and sold and by these present doth grant bargain and sell unto the said John Hubbard his heirs and assigns to a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Madison bounded as followeth to wit, Beginning at two white oak trees and fallen in the branch running with the line run by James McCommack Surveyor supposed to N74øEast 284 poles-286 crossing Ousley fork to the intersection with Said Craigs old line at a stake at B at the foot of the knob, thence South 11 west binding with the knobs in all 250 poles to a white oak at the corner to Charles Hubbard's thence with his lines N. 68ø west 170 poles crossing Ousley Fork to two white oaks trees at D thence North 33ø west 120 poles to the Beginning containing 224 acres with it appurtenances to have and to hold unto the said John Hubbard his heirs and assigns forever I bind myself my heirs Executors and Administrators against all and and every person or persons whatever/whatsoever unto the said John Hubbard his heirs and assigns forever Shall and will warrant hereunto set my hand and office my seal the day and year first above written.

    Know all men by these presents that we Charles Hubbard and Jemima Hubbard his wife of the County of Montgomery and state of Missourie do appoint Charles Hubbard Junior of the County of Lincoln and state aforesaid our lawful attorney and in our names to convey a certain tract of land in the State of Kentucky and County of Madison unto Jacob Fowler his heirs and assigns agreeable to a bond given by us unto the said Fowler upon his paying unto the said Charles Hubbard Jun. the amount of his note to us. Ratifying and confirming whatever the said Charles Hubbard Junr. should do the premise above mentioned and confirming them all as tho we were personally present. In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hand and seals this 29 day Sept. 1823
