Notes:

The youngest child of William and Sarah Cook was born 07 December 1818, probably in Schoharie county, New York She was only 3 years when her mother died. Older sister, Mary Louise, undoubtedly cared for her. Sarah married just after her nineteenth birthday to Albert Houghton, an attorney. Sarah and Albert had two children, William Clinton Houghton and Elvira Houghton. Albert suffered and early death due to causes unknown. The 1850 census finds Sarah and her children living in the household of her older brother, John. In March 1853 Sarah married Robert F. Queal. A son, Irving, is born in 1855. Sadly, Sarah dies in 1859 just months before her father, William. Sarah's second husband, Robert Queal, moved to Chicago and eventually held an early post on the executive committee for Northwestern University. Robert married a second time to Katherine Gillespie on 04 January 1870 in Cook County, Illinois.
