- Obituary Judson Cook, Logan Amos Cook, son of Judson
and Alma Cook, was born Sept. 2, 1886, in the town of Sylvan, Richland
County, Wis. He passed away July 27, 1958 at the Richland Hospital,
after a brief illness at the age of 71 years. In the year of 1905 he
was united in marriage to Martha McCumber, who passed away in Portland,
Ore. To this union were born seven children, four of whom survive, Mildred
Walker and Robert, of Portland, Ore; Glenn of Minneapolis, Minn. and
Emily thompson of th Town of Akan Richland County, eleven grandchildren
and four great grandchildren. Also surviving is his wife, the former
Flossie Kellogg to who he, was united in marriage in 1940, and one step-daughter
Vera Shepard of Kenosha. Besides his wife and children he leaves three
brothers, Lee of Sylvan, Stephan of Richland Center and Emerson of Coeur
De Alene, Idaho. His parents, two sisters and two brothers preceded
him in death. When a young man he became a member of the Pleasant Ridge
Church. The greater part of his life was spent on the old home farm
in the town of Sylvan. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to
those in need and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services were held July 30 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sugar Grove Church
of Christ, Cloyd Christman officiating, and interment was made in the
Sylvan cemetery. Among the many who attended the funeral were his four
children.

Cook vs. Martha O. Cook. That for a period of several years prior
to October 6th 1932, the said defendant professed to be interested in
the Apostolic Religious Faith and she continuously urged the plaintiff
to leave his farm in Richland County where the parties were then resideing
and go to Portland, Oregon, at which city is located the headquarters
of the Apostolic Church but that the plaintiff felt it was for the best
interest of both the parties hereto and their family to remain upon
said farm in the town of Sylvan, Richland County, Wisconsin, where he
was engaged in carrying on said farm and was making a good living for
his family. 7. That on or about the 6th day of October 1932, the said
defendant without notice to the plaintiff, willfully deserted and abandoned
the plaintiff and left their home, going to the city of Minneapolis,
Minnesota, where she remained a few days and then went to Portland,
Oregon, where she has ever since remained and that ever since such time
she has refused to return to the plaintiff's home or to live with him
and that such period of desertion has now continued for a period of
more than one year, to wit; since the 6th day of October 1932. 8. That
the defendant took with her the said Emily Cook being a daughter of
the parties hereto, above mentioned, together with a son named Glen
Cook who was then a minor but has since become twenty-one years of age
and also resides in Portland, Oregon. .
